Flyers Lock Up Hartnell for 6 Years
By J.R.
The Philadelphia Flyers announced Monday that they have re-signed LW Scott Hartnell to a 6 year deal worth about 28.5 million dollars. With this signing, the Flyers have made sure they will continue to be a contender in the Eastern Conference.
Hartnell who scored 37 goals last season complete with 30 assists and finishing with 67 points, has been a main component of the Flyers offense and even helps boost morale on the bench. Hartnell, who is viewed as somewhat of a nuisance to teams: causing trouble, stirring up fights, taunting opposing fans, brings a lot of passion to the team helps keep the rest of team fired up and ready to go.
While Hartnell isn’t necessarily a “star player,” he has increased his offensive production since he has started playing on the same line with Calude Giroux on the top line. Whether you like him or not you have to admit, he’s becoming a better player year in and year out and is becoming quite a threat on that Flyers top line.
