Penguins to pursue Corey Perry trade

Allons-y

Anaheim Ducks 2011 Skills CompetitionShould Ducks forward Corey Perry be put on the trade market, and it appears that he will, the Penguins will be an early favorite to make a strong push to acquire him.

Penguins GM Ray Shero has some money to play with after trading Jordan Staal and Zbynek Michalek in the offseason. He had hoped to spend this money on forward Zach Parise, but was beaten out by the Wild.

Some names being thrown around as possibly going the other way are rookies Simon Despres and Beau Bennett.

Is it worth parting with one of these young stars in waiting to possibly have another Marian Hossa situation? I don’t believe that Shero would let himself be burned like that again.

Until next time….
