The Four Horsemen of the NHL Lockout
Just a quick observation of what has taken place since the “deadline”.
To sum it up, everything pertaining to both sides of the CBA talks is a complete and chaotic mess.
The players are flying off the handle and cannot keep their mouths shut. The owners are playing poor pitiful us with public opinion.
Both sides have gone so far as to try to detract attention from their “leaders” as the instigators of this lockout, but it appears that it has truly become a battle of four men. Gary Bettman, Bill Daly, and the Fehr brothers. The Four Horsemen?
It appears that this has become such a circus side-show that the media has basically given it a collective eye roll.
There truly is a deal to be made here, and if people would allow egos to be set aside we would be playing hockey right now.
It will not come as soon as I predicted, but there will be hockey sooner than later, we just have to wait for the talking heads to figure out how to save face in the process.
We should be watching a golden age of hockey, but will these golden players be remembered as a generation who damaged the game? We all assume that this is the case with lockout king Gary Bettman, but how about the players?
My question for you today, is how do you feel about the NHL and the players now? I grew up in the Lemieux generation of Pittsburgh hockey. My heroes could do no wrong. However, with the way our “heros” of today are acting are you disenchanted with those who represent todays game?
Speak up in the comments below, using WP, Facebook, or Twitter and I will pick a person or two to give a shout out in an upcoming article.
Until next time…..
