The NHL Top Ten All Time Skaters 2032 Version:

By Greg Thornberry

No chit chat, let’s get to the point.

#1 Wayne Gretzky

#2 Mario Lemieux

#3 Bobby Orr

#4 Gordie Howe

#5 Jean Beliveau

#6 Guy Lafleur

#7 Maurice Richard

#8 Mike Bossy

#9 Mark Messier

#10 Doug Harvey

Now, I’m sure that you noticed that I didn’t give reasons below the players as to why they belong on this list. Do a Google search and you will find a million lists just like that.

I want to take the time to look forward 20 years and predict how this list will look. Now I am not basing the list on todays results, but what I believe is to come.

The NHL Top Ten All Time Skaters 2032 Version:

#1 Wayne Gretzky

#2 Mario Lemieux

#3 Sidney Crosby

#4 Bobby Orr

#5 Gordie Howe

#6 Alex Ovechkin

#7 Jean Beliveau

#8 Pavel Datsyuk

#9 Guy Lafleur

#10 Maurice Richard

Lots can happen in a career. Crosby might take a shot to the head and be done. Ovechkin might never return to form. The unexpected might happen like Alex Semin scoring 70 goals for 3 years (and he might learn to make a fist).

In regards to Datsyuk, if you look at his accomplishments he may deserve a spot there now.

This is all interpretation and opinion. I have seen top ten lists with Jagr as number five and Ron Francis as number ten. I have seen lists with Lemieux as number one and others as number five. All opinion.

There is no way to compare past and present eras, or predict the future, but it sure is fun to try.
